This review is not only about Sal’s excellent service and food but also about New Jersey’s highly underrated value as a area that excels in customer service and such patience with the population I’m always shocked by the level of service relative to other places I travel to. The NY/NJ area is the best in the US hands down. At Sal’s, the owner, Josey, immediately approached me with the most kind spirit and asked if I’d been there before, like she knew I hadn’t because she’d have remembered me! She attentively roved the small restaurant asking if everyone was ok and engaging them. Some may not like that kind of attention and if not, maybe this place isn’t for you.

Best BEC near Hackensack and at a steal of a price! Josie the owner is super sweet and has a touching family story behind the opening of the restaurant decades ago.

Excellent Food, Highly Recommended! Driving by and decided to stop in... the parking is poor and from the outside did not look like much... if there would have been other options we probably would have passed this place up... what the building lacks is made up with excellent food and friendly staff !

I came with my friends for lunch and I must say not only does everything look like it came from a magazine but taste even better. The new staff is super friendly and will modify your order to your liking. Here are a few pictures of the food we had. Thank you guys for being so hospitable. Will return as soon as possible.

Nice little dinner near Costco. They have a good but somewhat limited menu. I am sure there are enough options to make anyone happy. Only thing missing for me was french fries , but the burger was large and tasty so that made up for the lack of fries. Bun on the burger was delicious and definitely better than the 2023 Red Robin buns. The meat was tasty and cooked perfectly. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are awesome!! 8.5 for a burger makes it one of the best deals in NJ! Not sure about the drink prices, but I am used to most restaurants price gauging on drinks during Bidenflation, so I always bring my own drink and take food to-go. The drink selection here is actually really great with a whole assortment of Joes tea and diet coke too. The roast beef sandwich looks tempting for my next visit. Cellphone data speed here on 5g is good enough for browsing or gaming. Download speed is a bit slow but not bad. Parking is free and plenty of spots. Appears to be a cozy roof deck with seating for 2 tables, but might only be for summer? I like the giant spinning sign on top and the classic neon sign on the front. Both are nice touches and separates this place from all the cookie cutter modern ugly restaurant style that looks like a box made from Legos but only using the rectangle blocks to build from (see any new Wendy's, burger king, Dunkin, taco bell, mc Donald's, or the entire new downtown of Hackensack filled with these ugly modern block style buildings).

Been eating there almost daily for over one year since I started working near. It's by far the best option in the area -- every day you have a different entree which is a meat with a side of veggie/rice or potato for about 10 bucks... So, you get fast food price for the same type of food you'd cook in your own home. Highly recommend it!

I had the bagel egg cheese and potato panini. My bf had the tuna melt. We are so very happy and full when we left. Definitely give them a try on you way past !
